Where to find Kangaskhan in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Catching the Parent Pokemon, Kangaskhan, in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl can be rather difficult, so you’ll need to know exactly where you can find them in the Sinnoh region remakes.

Kangaskhan is an incredibly strong Normal-type Pokemon to catch in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, featuring great defensive capabilities and powerful attacks. While the vast majority of the game’s Gen 4 Pokedex can be completed by simply venturing into the tall grass, there are a number of Pokemon that require a little extra effort to catch.

For example, Pokemon like Munchlax, Beldum, Riolu, Spiritomb, and Combee all have specific catching methods in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Kangaskhan is another Pokemon that can only be encountered when certain conditions are met.

The below methods listed are the steps that players need to take to catch Kangaskhan in the original Diamond & Pearl titles.

How to catch Kangaskhan in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Kangaskhan can not be encountered in any of Sinnoh’s routes. Instead, you’ll need to first get ahold of Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl’s National Pokedex

Once you’ve obtained it, catching Kangaskhan is as simple as following a few short steps.

  • Head over to The Great Marsh/Safari Zone.
  • The Great Marsh is located in Pastoria City, so you’ll need to hear there in Sinnoh to catch the elusive Normal-type.
  • Once you’ve arrived in The Great Marsh, you’ll simply have to walk through the tall grass until you’re lucky enough to encounter it.
  • The Great Marsh has had a bit of a facelift in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

It’s important to note that Kangaskhan is a Daily Binocular Pokemon, which means it won’t always appear in the Great Marsh. To increase your chances of catching it, make sure to return to the Great Marsh each day when the daily Pokemon resets and you should eventually encounter it.

Unfortunately, the ‘mon does have a 58.8% flee rate, meaning it’s very likely it will run off if it feels threatened. If you do mess up the encounter, just keep walking around the tall grass until another Kangaskhan eventually appears.

So, there you have it – you need to know about how to catch Kangaskhan in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl’s Sinnoh region.
